Question about Zyxel AX7501 with XGSPON SFP+, VLAN 10
Hello Two questions about Zyxel AX7501-B0 router: 1. is the offered model the original firmware on it (or some provider-specific neutered one)? 2. does the model run plug & play with a Sunrise connection (I would like to replace the neutered Sunrise version with it)? Thanks and greetings
I have that router with Sunrise. The software is full of bugs. It does seems restricted because, for example so far, I was not able to change the DNS server. The "static option" in the DNS part of the DHCP is greyed out.
Overall it seems currently let down by the interface (I counted like 5-10 bugs so far). And as you indicated, it's restricted because the firmware is only provided by Sunrise, so you can not "manage" that either.
This router is an ISP part. The router is tested by Swisscom and certified for the CH telephone network.
For support you have to contact your provider. You will not receive any support or firmware updates from Zyxel nor from studerus.ch. But the router is not limited in any way and works with any provider.
The included SFP+ module can do XGS-PON (Point to Multipoint).
The VLAN ID may need to be adjusted; you can obtain this information from Sunrise.
