Hello Twentybucks

I'm just a PC user with some knowledge, need the WIFI adapter "only" for streaming, etc. no games. However, since my new Netgear Orbi RBK50 router, the download has gotten a lot better. However, our cable connection TO the house is very outdated, no fibre network in sight, unfortunately! The best network in the house doesn't help... the download speed test only brings in 193.5 Mbit/s :-( Is the download speed really better with a LAN connection?

Might have had the same problem.

Probably the wifi signal is running over a combined frequency of 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

In any case, Netgear selects the more stable 2.4ghz frequency instead of the faster 5ghz.

Splitting the frequency on the router to 2 SSIDs solved the problem for me.
