Question about Onkyo TX-NR7100

Good evening I have a question about the ONKYO TX-NR7100 product. In the past, practically all older integrated amplifiers had 2 RCA connections each, namely In & Out. The TX-NR7100 has a unique LINE OUT (Zone2, Zone B) port, respectively connection. Is it possible to use this "LINE OUT" port as an input (recording) for an analogue tape deck such as the Sony TC-K 909 ES?

Helpful answer

I have to add something to my previous answer...

It is not the case that you cannot set up any other devices via the app. You can access peripheral control devices connected via HDMI (e.g. TV, BD/DVD player) via the app, but the analogue line out is not part of the app as such. And of course you can select all digital and analogue inputs. The analogue Line Out of Zone 2 can only be accessed in the settings of the receiver, either directly on the receiver itself or via the supplied remote control, but not via the App on the smartphone.

The app is not translated consistently into German. The (?) info icons next to an English term suddenly hide German explanations.

The app is not useful for this question during set-up. It is primarily used to calibrate the speakers and then as a remote.

In my opinion, this analogue Line Out (as with other Line Out's or earlier RCA's of other devices) should actually be able to be used as a recording input on a tape deck without any problems. The volume of the recording could then be controlled either via the receiver or - as is possible with the Sony TC-K 909 ES - on the tape deck (or both). Of course, one would then simply have to activate the second zone, then nothing should actually stand in the way.

By the way, the app is only partly in English and otherwise in German. But even if you don't know much English, it shouldn't be a problem.

I only had the Onkio for a short time and can't help you with your question. One useful piece of information may be that English skills are necessary, as an app is required to set it up, but this is only available in English.
