No, they can't really be described as being terrible, but they're not as good as the old ones either.

No, they are like the HP 12C Platinum and much better than the DM16L, which incidentally costs 149.00. They may not be as good as in 1984, but back then the computer cost around CHF 500, so you could buy three (!) new ones.

Too much controversy about the keys. Personally, I think the keys are just as good as on the old models. I can only recommend the calculator.

The keys on my 15C are great, just as you would expect from HP. 
I also had it a long time ago when I was a student and probably bought it for "sentimental" reasons.
Everything is perfect, they were great computers in the past and still are today.
