Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Key
Good day If I activate the timer, is the radiation from the WLAN transmitters also deactivated? Or are the access points deactivated by software?
Hello Michael
The Cloud Key is only used to manage the Ubiquiti access points. The key itself has no wireless antennas, i.e. it does not radiate. If you do not want to have the access points always active, you could install the timer on them or control the WLAN times via a kind of calendar / time control >> this can be done well with the help of the Cloud Key.
Please note that the Ubiquiti products are designed for office use, i.e. they perform very well but are quite demanding in terms of configuration.

Hello Michael, I'm not a networker or a physicist, but as an IT professional I would say that a WLAN router and/or access point has nothing to "radiate" when deactivated - what should it radiate/transmit at this point?
The same applies if I use a loudspeaker and you tell the music source "Please no more music", then the loudspeaker won't do anything other than consume power, but it won't transmit or resound either because there is nothing to transmit. What exactly is your "fear"? That, for example, at night when you don't want to have WLAN, the WLAN router or the access points will continue to transmit "dangerous" radiation? Do you have a WLAN router active that itself transmits WiFi signal and additionally and simultaneously 1 or more access points in operation?
