Question about Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) + Ethernet
Good day, Does anyone have any experience of the unit being able to do the following? - Streaming 4k (progressive) videos in mkv (H265 and MP4) from a local network media player. - Send audio sound (possibly) separately to an amplifier - Streaming from other online streaming suppliers like SRF or Arte - Display photos in full HD in random order

The answer to all your questions is yes, you can play MKV and other videos using the Infuse app and other apps. Sound can be streamed via AirPlay or HDMI ARC to an A/V receiver or amplifier. The ARTE TV and Play RTS apps can be used to broadcast or rebroadcast content from these channels. There's an option to view photos in random order in the Apple Photo app.
