Question about Synology Ds1515+

Good day all My DS1515+ has given up the ghost after 5 years, unfortunately it is no longer possible to switch it on. Now my questions: - I assume that the price of 965.- only includes the enclosure without the disc, correct? - Can I install my 5 existing discs in a new DS1515+ enclosure without losing data? - Would it make more sense to change to a newer model like DS1520+ and of course keep or migrate the data on the existing discs? Thanks for the support

The DS1515+ with this error could still be repaired without any problems.

I have also had two DS1515+ failures.
The DS1515+ is no longer manufactured...

It's better to buy the 1520+ directly, migrating works without any problems! Simply insert the discs in the same order from left to right (from DS1515+ to DS1520+).

Good day
I decided to buy the 1618+ about 2 years ago after the 1515+ was defective because the 1515+ had a problem with the CPU. At that time, the DS1520+ did not yet exist. I could simply slide the hard drives into the new DS1618+ and migrate.
If they can get by with 8 GB Ram, the DS1520+ will certainly not be a bad choice. However, I would definitely not choose the DS1515+ as I don't trust this revised CPU. I have not regretted switching to the DS1618+. By the way, the 1618+ can be expanded up to 32 GB Ram. I hope I was able to help you with your decision.
Kind regards
