Suppliers such as Sunrise and co sometimes rent the Internet lines from the local ISP providers in your municipality. Depending on the municipality, there are only 1-2 employees who manage the internet lines completely on their own. These are often local electricity companies or gas pipeline companies who also lay fibre optic cables directly when they build their electricity and gas lines. There is almost no margin in this business and it is highly competitive. Suppliers have to save money wherever they can.
