Question about TP-Link Deco E4 WLAN Mesh 1-pack Set (AC1200)
Does this product work like the Apple AirPort Extreme WiFi hotspot? Since the 2 Ethernet ports are limited to 100mbps, is it possible to connect one of these docks to a Swisscom router without a network cable?
The Deco E4 can only do 100 Mbits, so they are extremely unsuitable as a mesh system, as 1 Gbit or even faster Internet is generally possible in the home today. A better solution would be the Deco M4, which can do Gbit Ethernet. Xiaomi's mesh system, the AX3000, would be even better, the routers in the AX3000 set all have a 3-port Gbit switch installed in addition to the WAN connection for the ISP router. And the system can also serve WiFi 6 and up to 256 devices at the same time. It's a bit more expensive but can be expanded to 10 mesh routers, also available in sets of 2 for less than 130.
