Does the router ONLY work if you have fibre or also normally?
Yes. You can also connect the network cable to LAN1.

But that doesn't make much sense, so it's better to use a 75xx.

It has a fibre optic connection. You can't use any other system, but there are plenty of other routers, even from Fritz! :)
