Does the Homebase also work if the cameras are not directly connected to it via WLAN, but are instead connected to another WLAN router or WLAN repeater? In this case, does the Homebase recognise the Eufy S350 in the network so that the recordings are saved on it as usual? Does this mean that I can operate several S350 cameras using Fritz repeaters and the Homebase will retain all functions without any restrictions - even if there is no direct Wi-Fi connection between the cameras and the Homebase? I plan to operate the Homebase in a room with a LAN connection, away from the WLAN used by the S350s. As I don't need the WLAN of the Homebase, the question also arises: Is it possible to deactivate this function?
Kurz: Nein, geht nicht, die HomeBase muss in Reichweite sein, macht ein eigenes WiFi.
Ich habe folgende Frage und Antwort in der Eufy community gefunden:
How does the eufy camera communicate with HomeBase?
The cameras can only connect to the Homebase via its own proprietary hidden SSID and uses 2.4 G Wi-Fi. Basically it acts as a Wi-Fi repeater / extender once connected to your network.01.11.2023
As already mentioned, the cameras communicate via radio. They can also be operated via wifi if there is no home base in the network. Storage then takes place locally. So there is no wifi on the home base.
In my opinion, the cameras use their own protocol for the connection to the HomeBase and not WLAN. This means you cannot integrate the cameras via WLAN repeaters or routers.
With a repeater it works fine. I use it like this. I can't answer it with another WLAN
