Question about Panasonic Dmr-Bct950

Is it possible to record TV channels via this device when you have cable TV with Cablecom WITHOUT a subscription? If so, do I need to insert a Cablecom card in it? Thank you for answering precisely, this is an essential criterion.

Since the January 2015 update for the Digicard, recordings are no longer running so smoothly. Although programmes are still recorded, they cannot be played back due to a playback restriction. Apparently Cablecom deliberately prevents the decoding of encrypted channels during and after recording. I own the previous model, but I don't think it's because of the end device, but rather because of the Digicard update, because everything was still working fine before January 2015.
