Does the device also work very simply via Bluetooth with an Android handset? I don't have an Apple, no iOS, no SmartHome.

The device needs Apple HomeKit to work, so unfortunately that is not possible.
From around the middle of 2022, a "Matter" firmware will be delivered for the device and it will then also work with "Samsung Smart Things", "Google Home" and "Amazon Echo".
However, a pure Bluetooth connection only with the app will most likely still not be possible.

By the way, this applies to all Eve devices that communicate with Wi-Fi or Thread. Matter only uses Bluetooth for start-up, no longer for data transmission.
