Does the Albert Little switch on and off automatically based on the desired humidity setting?

Yes absolutely. Your can select continuous mode or stop / go automatically when the humidity reach 40, 50, 60%. It's our second Albert. A great machine designed in Switzerland and used every day in a cellar (50m2) with no problems. We use it for drying our laundry. Big positive point : Kompressor with a very low noise.
Highly recommandable.
