Question about Edifier T5

Does it make sense to turn the subwoofer 180° because of the bass reflex tube? So the bass reflex tube looks upwards, as I hit my sideboard on the left side, as the bass reflex tube is directed to the right in the T5, or is that a bad idea?

Helpful answer

Turning the subwoofer 180° so that the bass reflex tube points upwards is not a recommended idea for the Edifier T5 subwoofer. Here are some reasons why this is not advisable:

## Bass reflex tube orientation
The bass reflex tube is designed to face backwards or sideways to optimise bass resonance and minimise unwanted resonances. If the tube is orientated upwards, this can lead to unwanted resonances and a deterioration in bass quality.

## Acoustic performance
The acoustic performance of the subwoofer depends heavily on the correct alignment of the bass reflex tube. Incorrect alignment can lead to an uneven distribution of the bass and a poorer overall sound quality.

## Placement
It is better to place the subwoofer so that the bass reflex tube points in a direction that is not directly towards a wall or piece of furniture. If you are bumping into your sideboard on the left side, you could instead place the subwoofer so that the bass reflex tube points backwards or to the other side for better bass response.

Overall, it is best to leave the subwoofer in the recommended configuration for the best acoustic performance.
