Question about Nello One - Smarter
Does anyone know what will happen next? I got a message from Nello today that the operation will be discontinued on 18.10. @ Digitec in fairness you should think about stopping the sale of the product. Here is the message from Nello. Hi, unfortunately we are forced to stop the operation of the nello server on 18.10., so that your nello one will only work until then. This is happening against the background that, despite great efforts, we have unfortunately not been able to find an investor or buyer in the past 8 months who would invest in the further development and maintenance of nello. disappointed_relieved Therefore, on 1 October, insolvency proceedings had to be opened against the company behind nello - LOCUMI LABS GmbH. As of now, we can therefore unfortunately no longer offer customer support. disappointed_relieved Since 1.10. the lawyer Dr. Hubert Ampferl (Nymphenburger Straße 5, 80335 Munich, +49(89)30905860, advo@ra-dr-beck.de) has been appointed as insolvency administrator. All insolvency claims must be submitted in writing to the insolvency administrator by 6 November 2019. A fat dog. Twice over. It has been known since the end of July that NELLO is insolvent (https://www.heise.de/newsticker...). Since then, Digitec should no longer carry this product in its range.
In addition, Nello's communication is super lousy. Instead of informing their customers honestly in the long term, they have artificially delayed it. Only now 2 weeks before the end, the customers are informed! Starting tomorrow, I would have gone on holiday for a fortnight and then not been able to get back into the flat?! That says a lot about what must be a lousy culture at Nello. So it's ok if they don't have them any more.
I wisely ordered the NUKI Smart Lock Nello One. I would also recommend that.
At the moment, I don't think anyone knows exactly what will happen next and whether the service can be maintained at all. Unfortunately, at the moment we have to expect the worst, i.e. that the service will be discontinued completely and the device will only be good for the bin.
I also find the communication more than lousy.
Unfortunately, the Nuki Smart Lock does not work very well for the entrance door to an apartment building.
It would work for a flat door.
But let's hope that they will still present something so that we can continue to use Nello One, the idea behind it would have been great, only the implementation and further expansion failed.
