Question about Zyxel Armor Z1, ac1733/n600
Does anyone have experience with this router and Fiber 7? How much can you get out of a GBit fibre line with the router? What are the advantages and disadvantages compared to a Netgear 7000?
I also use the device with Fiber7. 2 PCs (Linux/Win7) are connected behind a gigabit LAN/switch, various devices are connected to the WIFI. In addition, a Netgear Extender 7000 is attached 1 floor below, which extends the signal. The Win7 PC shows approx. 900 Mbps in download and upload at https://www.speedtest.net, the Linux PC gets about half that. A laptop/Win7 via WIFI approx. 5 m away on sight achieved approx. 270 Mbps download, upload up to 450 Mpbs in the test. With the extender, approx. 175 Mbps are still measured via WIFI, down- and upload. All in all, good results. Note: I have to restart the Z1 Zyxel regularly (approx. every 4-5 days) because the 5 Ghz signal keeps getting lost, despite the latest firmware. I don't know what the reason for this is.
I have a 100 Mbps line and the router gets through without any problems. I am very satisfied with the product.
Visually, it's a pretty big part and not exactly discreet, but it works. I can't say anything about the comparison because I don't know the other one.

I use the device with Fiber7 - works without any problems, the speed is top as expected!
