Does anyone have any idea how well this thing runs with Ubuntu/Lubuntu?
i like to watch series on holiday is it possible to put the series on an sd card into the thing and then play them back in the hotel pc or does the thing have too little power? always drag my laptop along...
I don't have this exact model, but the Intel Atom series runs with Ubuntu. You have to create a 64bit Ubuntu boot stick normally. Then you have to copy bootia32.efi into the boot directory:

(the CPU can boot 64bit, but the SOCs only boot with 32bit UEFI, for whatever reason).
Then boot from the stick and install Ubuntu. You must have an internet connection during the installation, because the 32bit bootloader is not included in the 64bit Ubuntu, but it is downloaded and installed automatically.
The performance is only OK, 3D effects (Unity etc.) run, surfing with a few tabs, LibreOffice etc. is no problem. But not much more...

No, the stick is specifically designed for Windows. For Linux, I use Raspberry Pi.
