do these things work with any router? - in my case Sunrise. or do you need a special one? Thank you.

Here, for example, Deco-Mesh runs on an old primitive Fritzbox; only LAN connection for the "mother ship" (main Deco device) - the rest works intuitively and with good menu navigation. The advert says: "Compatible with the most important Internet service providers (ISPs) and modems, such as Telekom and AVM modems, so you don't have to change a new modem". Unfortunately, that's all I can article... Good luck.
