No, you can't use it without a cable. The battery mentioned in the description only serves to give the owner a few seconds to take the part off the window in the event of a power failure before it falls and falls and collides with other objects or subjects. Also, I would NOT recommend this window robot. it leaves a lot of streaks when cleaning! Looks bad!
