Can this repeater also be used with routers/modems from other manufacturers? In my case Sunrise.

Yes, it is possible and the connection between the two devices is very easily established. I also have the Sunrise Tower as a router. The only drawback is that I can achieve speeds of up to 700 Mbps with the router, but "only" 200 Mbps with this repeater.
