DVDs can only be played on the device via direct playback from the disc drive, not streamed via Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is mainly used for streaming online content and for using network functions such as DLNA, but not for wireless playback of physical DVDs. DVDs are therefore played via cable using the player's disc drive.
