It works to a certain extent. We noticed a slightly reduced amount of dust on the furniture. If you live next to a construction site or a busy road, the air purifier definitely helps. If you live in a clean and quiet landscape, the effect is negligible.

Anyway, I must mention that the air purifier has done a great job in reducing invisible particles like PM10 and PM2.5. We tested at home with a third-party device.
