Can the device be connected directly to Swisscom's 10G P2P fibre cable (SFP+) or do I need a separate media converter or router?

Read the info from Swisscom. I have the iWay operator and in their instructions it clearly states that the connection is only possible via their zyxel router (my current setup) or with a media converter also provided by them.

I have mine connected directly, but through Init7 not Swisscom. The hardware is correct but Swisscom can use software to prevent you from using it.
