Question about Ubiquiti Us-24
Can someone maybe give me a quick clue...? As I see it, this is the "old" model - correct? In principle, this one would probably be quite enough for me. But the Gen2 (which one is that?) seems to have no fans, which I would prefer in principle. Are the fan noises effectively audible/tragic here with this version? Do the fans run permanently - at normal room temperature, of course? What other reasons might there be for the Gen2? Thanks for your input!
I can only respond to the question about fan noise concerning Gen1 (I don't know Gen2): These are def. audible. I have installed the switch in a small rack in the utility room and you can hear the switch quite well outside the room (as long as the door to the room is open).
Conclusion: I would not want this switch in the living area. But outside the room it fits perfectly.
What you have to consider are the dimensions and weight. In my opinion, both should not be underestimated.
