Can I use this thing with me? I have a 720p non-smart Sony LCD TV with an external Kaon DVB-C receiver. The connection TV <> receiver is via HDMI (yeah!). The TV has a second HDMI input. I only have an optical audio output on the receiver. Of course, both devices still have cinch and Scart :-)

If the Sony TV or receiver has Bluetooth, then you can connect the soundbar to the TV/receiver without any problems and without cables.

If the Soundbar is to be connected to the TV, it needs HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) when watching TV.
If you want to connect it to the receiver, you need Toslink (optical output).
Then it should work because the TV is probably only used as a monitor in conjunction with the receiver.
