Can I say how much humidity I want and if it exceeds this, does it switch on automatically? If not, can you recommend one that is powerful and not so loud?
Yes you can, in 5% steps.
However, the fan is always running unless you switch the appliance off completely. With the old models, the appliance switched off completely when the humidity level fell below this. I have two of them and am very satisfied.
