Can I connect it to an iphone hotspot and then to a PC via LAN would that work?
Why exactly do you need the diversions via a cable? If you don't want wireless, Android supports USB tethering. (Alternatively via Internet via Bluetooth)
I can't answer whether the iPhone can do it too. But I think it does.
