Can an existing hi-fi system be connected via the AUX In socket? Via speaker output to AUX socket or via headphone output to AUX socket? Thank you

In my case, they are connected to AUX via the headphone output of the TV. Works perfectly, including automatic switching on of the Klipsch.

Consequently, it should also be possible to connect a hi-fi system in this way.
