Are the locks on the suitcases TSA approved or do you need an additional TSA lock for travelling to America?

Hello, unfortunately I can't answer this question. BUT, the quality of these cases leaves a lot to be desired. The telescopic rod is already broken after the second use. So if you ask me, I wouldn't recommend these cases.
