After reading the negative reports, I think I'll refrain from buying it and look for an alternative. It seems to have been developed for micro-scrap enthusiasts, who love it complicated. Maybe I'll get some tips for an alternative programme here (yes, I've already googled and found something, but tips are always welcome, thanks).

is not from MS, but from Adobe. Whether you use all the Creative Cloud stuff is up to you. "PSE is certainly a good standalone programme, especially if you are used to PS and are familiar with it. The special offer price is ok. The well-known and very good alternatives are: Pixelmator (Pro) and Affinity Photo; for certain things certainly also the classic "Graphic Converter".
