According to the manufacturer, this unit can be used with an XGS-PON connection. However, the XGS-PON (red) transceiver is not included in the scope of delivery. According to clarifications with avm, the transceiver is only available via the service provider. After clarification with the respective service providers who use this device with their customers, there is supposedly only the GPON connection. My question: Is there a transceiver that is suitable for XGS-PON?
For this you need the Fritz 5530 xgspon Edition. Unfortunately, this is still not available anywhere. The box is officially certified by some providers, but there are still technical problems with the protocol. There are good posts on this topic in the Swisscom Community Forum. I am also urgently waiting for a solution.
That is correct and of course they do exist. However, according to AVM, these SFP modules are not sold to end customers. As long as you do not want to operate a 10 Gbit fibre connection, this is not a problem. The enclosed (AON SFP) works without difficulty on a 1 Gbit fibre connection. The xgs-pon SFP will probably be available from Swisscom in the course of the year (no guarantee and the HOW is unclear).
