-Can I connect a NAS to the Huawei E5885LS and run the whole home from the mains? -Does this damage the battery?
The device is a router and assigns IP addresses via DHCP, so it should work. However, it should be noted that the battery is not replaceable and, if it is constantly connected to the charger, the router may not last long.
An LTE router, e.g. from AVM, would be the better solution for continuous operation, because the Huawei's strength lies in mobility, not in stationary use.
Hello Thomas
Yes, that is certainly possible. However, this requires a switch or "crossed" mains cable. In this case, the unit would have to be permanently connected to the power supply. As a mobile solution, this is certainly feasible. At home, I would buy a 4G router (without battery).
Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me with the Seagate Business Storage 2-Bay NAS....
