The P-660R combines various network functions. Therefore, it is primarily used in existing network environments where a firewall is already in place. This ADSL router does not have a built-in Stateful Packet Inspection firewall. Separating internet access and security into distinct hardware components can be advantageous. When changing access technologies (ADSL, cable, leased line), the firewall can still be utilized. Additionally, the configuration options for firewall rules, such as on the ZyWALL USG 300, are more extensive than on a combined ADSL firewall router. The Zero-Configuration feature requires virtually no configuration effort. Traffic redirect can be configured as a backup for the internet connection.
