The LZ 127 Zeppelin was the most significant type of Zeppelin airship. These were true historical milestones that could never be matched again. From 1900 to 1938, Zeppelin GmbH produced over 100 airships in 27 different versions. The largest of these was the LZ 129 in 1938, measuring 245 meters in length, 41.2 meters in diameter, and with a volume of 200,000 m³. Four Daimler diesel engines with 4,200 horsepower transported passengers, mail, and cargo at a maximum speed of 131 km/h and a range of 12,000 kilometers to Japan, North, and South America.
