Monitors window states in the Smart Home. The eWindow Handle ConnectSense reliably detects attempted break-ins at the window and reports to the Smart Home central unit. Additionally, it recognizes and reports the position of the handle (closed, tilted, open) as well as the position of the window sash (closed, open). By continuously comparing the handle and window sash positions, it accurately determines whether a window is actually open or if the handle is simply in the open position without the window sash being moved. The eWindow Handle ConnectSense offers extensive features for monitoring window states in the building – potentially even while on the go through a smartphone notification.

Detects break-in attempts at the window. A special algorithm distinguishes between an actual break-in attempt (e.g., prying open the window) and an accidental disturbance (e.g., from children playing with a ball). Through its Smart Home central unit, the user can define deterrent measures to be triggered in the event of a detected break-in attempt.

Provides more comfort. Regardless of break-in attempt detection, the eWindow Handle ConnectSense allows for the definition of scenarios that enhance energy efficiency and comfort. For example:

• Automatically reducing heating or air conditioning when the window is opened for ventilation
• Automatically closing the blinds only when the patio door is closed

Further scenarios are possible, depending on the configuration of the Smart Home system and the preferences of the residents.

Transmission security. The eWindow Handle ConnectSense operates with the standard wireless protocol Z-Wave Plus.
