Class 1 vs. Class 4. Both the P2S Class 1 and the P2S Class 4 utilize the same powerful 55W CO₂ laser. The difference lies in the safety design of the machine and how the laser beam is handled during operation: P2S Class 1 – The laser is fully enclosed, with a sealed housing and safety locks on the lid and base plate. When the lid is opened or the base plate is removed, the laser automatically deactivates.
