Cat6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz. They are used for signal transmission with high data transfer rates (1 Gbps). Due to the high signal frequencies, careful installation and assembly are particularly important, especially at the connection points of the wires. The individual wire pairs in Cat6 cables are twisted at different tightness levels, which reduces susceptibility to interference even more than in Cat5e.
