Cat 6A cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 500MHz. They are used for signal transmission with high data transmission rates (10Gbps).
Due to the high signal frequencies, particular care must be taken during laying and assembly, especially at the connection points of the cores. The individual wire pairs of Cat 6A are twisted differently, which reduces the susceptibility to interference even more than with Cat 5e. Application areas for Cat 6A cables are voice and data transmission, as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
