MPO (multi-fiber push-on) cabling system - These trunk cables are used as permanent link connections between MPO modules. The trunk cables contain 12 fibers and are terminated on both ends with a 12-fiber female MPO connector. The MPO cabling system is an easy-to-use solution based on a high-density connector and flat ribbon fiber optic cables with 12 fibers. This system is widely used in data centers and is also applied between server rooms. It has been designed for reliable and fast handling, offering the advantages of a small footprint and maximum scalability. The pre-terminated MPO cables can be fan-out to other connector types, typically to LC connectors, to connect to standard fiber optic products or services. This is done through modules or so-called fan-out cables.
