Ubiquiti Motion Sensor

The UniFi Motion Sensor is a wireless motion detection sensor for integration into Ubiquiti's UniFi Protect ecosystem, providing reliable presence detection for security and automation applications. This device operates in the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band with a detection range of up to 10 metres and a 120-degree field of view. Advanced algorithms make it possible to distinguish between human movement and other sources of motion. The compact design measures 65 mm in diameter and 25 mm in height with a weight of 85 grammes, allowing for unobtrusive indoor installation on walls or ceilings. The sensor is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery with an expected operating time of up to 12 months per charge, depending on usage behaviour.

A magnetic mounting plate offers flexible positioning options. The sensor supports temperature monitoring with an accuracy of ±0.5 °C in the range of -10 °C to 60 °C and communicates via encrypted Wi-Fi connection with UniFi Protect controllers or compatible network video recorders. The housing is IP54 certified and offers protection against dust and splashing water, making it suitable for use in residential or light commercial environments such as living rooms, hallways or offices. Setup is done via the UniFi Protect mobile app or web interface, where sensitivity levels, activity zones and notification rules can be configured. This product requires an existing UniFi Protect system for full functionality and comes without a power supply but utilises a USB-C port for charging. The minimalist white finish blends into modern interiors and provides essential motion data to enhance security monitoring and automation triggers within the UniFi ecosystem.
