The TL-SG116P is an unmanaged switch with 16 Gigabit ports that requires no configuration and provides 16 PoE ports (Power over Ethernet). It can automatically detect and power all IEEE802.3af/at compliant Powered Devices (PDs). In this case, electrical power is transmitted along with data over a single cable, allowing you to expand your network even where there are no power lines or outlets to connect devices like APs, IP cameras, or IP phones. Power over Ethernet (PoE) allows you to power compatible devices through the network cable. This significantly reduces cabling effort for end devices such as Wireless Access Points, IP phones, and IP cameras while providing high flexibility in device placement. The IEEE 802.3at standard provides a maximum of 25.4 Watts of power on each PoE port with a voltage of up to 50 Volts. The standard assumes that after line losses, 21.90 Watts of usable power remain to avoid exceeding the maximum power output. For PoE, a Cat5e/6 cable with a maximum length of 100 m is recommended.
