The 2-way system divides incoming signals among seven drivers, which are more efficient within their optimal operating range than a corresponding full-range system. Six large 55-mm midrange drivers ensure full, rich reproduction even at low levels, with consistently good speech intelligibility. The drivers' enormous excursion capability allows for high, distortion-free levels with good precision.

A 19-mm tweeter gives voices and effects a silky, smooth sound without sounding aggressive. The wide dispersion angle ensures a balanced sound at all listening positions. Despite the slim columns, the crossover frequency to the subwoofer can be set at 150 Hz, making deep bass hardly localizable and allowing for flexible positioning of the subwoofer. All speakers are constructed the same way, ensuring they sound alike. This is an essential requirement for enveloping surround sound—especially when, for example, a helicopter is supposed to roar from the back to the front of the scene.

The neutral tuning with deep yet subtle bass is excellent for movie sound of any kind, music, and games. Like the speakers in the Varion set, the small but powerful subwoofer can be easily integrated into the living environment. Despite its compact dimensions, the woofer boasts impressive sound specifications: 43 Hz cutoff frequency (-3 dB), 106 dB maximum sound pressure level, and two bass reflex ports for deep, dry bass without disturbing airflow noise. The subwoofer features an automatic on/off function as well as a volume and phase switch for optimal adjustment to the room and personal taste. The rubberized feet are, of course, included.
