Product Name: 1:350 JP Cruiser/Carrier Mogami

The Mogami, the unique seaplane cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy, was commissioned in 1935. Due to various design flaws, it underwent three modifications, the first due to a lack of stability. In the second modification, the armament was changed from 15.3 cm triple gun turrets to larger 20.3 cm twin gun turrets. The conversion to a seaplane cruiser took place from 1942 to 1943 after a failed submarine evasion maneuver and a collision with the Mikuma, as well as several bomb hits from American carrier aircraft. After further heavy battles against the enemy US fleet, a severe fire broke out on the ship in the fall of 1944. The remaining crew decided to abandon the ship and sink it with torpedoes. The Mogami disappeared into the depths of the Mindanao Sea.
