The F-16CJ was deployed to patrol the no-fly zone following the Gulf War. In 2003, more than 70 F-16CJs participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was equipped with an F110-GE-129 engine, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of Mach 2.0.
