Product details

Art. No.: 300077525
Product Name: 1:700 British King George V Battleship

The British battleship King George V was commissioned in October 1940 as the lead ship of the second King George V class and served as the flagship of the Home Fleet. Among other engagements, it participated in the hunt for the German battleship Bismarck in May 1941 alongside HMS Rodney. From 1944, the King George V served in the Pacific. At Japan's surrender on September 2, 1945, it was anchored off Tokyo. In 1949, the King George V was transferred to the reserve fleet, and in 1957, the fleet command officially retired the 35,000-ton battleship. The detailed TAMIYA model in 1:700 scale depicts the ship as it appeared during the Pacific War, equipped with additional radar and anti-aircraft armament.
