The model is a replica of the Soviet fighter LA-5FN. The LA-5FN is one of the best single-engine aircraft of World War II. Enemy pilots were advised not to lose speed when encountering the LA-5FN to avoid a prolonged dogfight. On July 6, 1943, Soviet ace Alexander Gorovets flew his LA-5FN against enemy bombers in the Battle of Kursk Duga and achieved 9 victories.
