The model is a replica of the Petlyakov Pe-2 aircraft. The Pe-2 was used from 1941 until the end of the war as an attack aircraft, heavy fighter, dive bomber, and reconnaissance aircraft. Over 11,000 units were built and deployed primarily by the Soviet Air Force, but also by allies such as Czechoslovakia and Poland.
