The model is a replica of the ship "Golden Hind." The small galleon was built at a shipyard in Aldeburgh and then outfitted in the port of Plymouth. It was originally known as the Pelican. The glorious history of the ship began on December 13, 1577, when it set sail from Plymouth under the command of Sir Francis Drake, leading an expedition of five ships in search of adventure.
