Tamiya 1/24 Audi Quattro

The Audi quattro played a crucial role in bringing all-wheel drive vehicles out of the exclusive realm of heavy off-road vehicles. It was one of the highlights of the Geneva Motor Show in 1980. While the body resembled the Audi Coupe, the widened fenders and front and rear spoilers hinted at its high performance. The permanent all-wheel drive was, of course, the main topic of conversation. The front and rear differentials were connected by a central differential, allowing for excellent handling on roads, impressive speeds, outstanding cornering, and exceptional stability. The 5-cylinder inline engine with a displacement of 2144 cm3, turbocharger, and intercooler delivered an impressive 200 hp. The car featured MacPherson strut suspension at the front and rear, along with ventilated disc brakes in the front. The 1981 rally version won many races and paved the way for other all-wheel drive rally cars. Its influence was also felt in road vehicles, and although the car itself remains a timeless classic, the name "quattro" continues to be used by Audi for all-wheel drive.

Authentic replicas of the 5-cylinder inline engine, suspension, and all-wheel drive are included. The interior features replicas of seats, dashboard, gear shift, and much more. Stickers are used for the seat patterns. The tires are made of fully synthetic rubber. A driver figure is included in the set.
